What’s a “csa” or “farmshare”?
Often used interchangeably, a Farmshare or CSA stands for “Community-Supported Agriculture”. It’s a partnership between a farm and it’s community. CSA members pay a subscription fee, or purchase a “share” of the farm, at the beginning of the growing season, which enables the farm to buy seeds, supplies, pay for labor, etc. In return, the farm harvests the best of the seasonal vegetables each week for pick-up at the farm or Revival Butchery
what’s in the bag?
Each week, you’ll get 5-7 seasonal vegetables (bags, bunches, pints, heads, etc). These veggies are all harvested at the peak of their season and height of their freshness. Depending on how frequently you cook, and what your vegetable intake is, the Farmshare is generally a good fit for 1-3 people.
What do I get?
A weekly bag of fresh “beyond-organic” vegetables for pick-up at the farm or Revival Butchery
A weekly newsletter with photos from the farm, recipes, and cooking tips for all the produce
Invitations to member events at the farm
10% off any Horseshoe Farm purchase of vegetables or handmade furniture/art at The Farmstand or Travelers Rest Farmers Market
The opportunity to directly support a young farmer. CSA stands for “Community-Supported Agriculture”. It’s a great way to support a local farm, since it provides funds to farmers at the beginning of the season and guarantees a home for the produce.
